Commission launches consultation on new energy strategy

A consultation on a new energy strategy has been launched by the European Commission, asking stakeholders to outline ways in which existing legislation can be better implemented over the next ten years. The consultation, which runs until 2 July, touches on the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETSⁱ), renewables and energy security issues. Stakeholders’ input will be analysed and included in the strategy, which will be put to the European Council in March 2011. The proposed strategy would cover the period 2011-2020.
