Convention on Biological Diversity report examines biodiversity loss

The Convention on Biological Diversity claims that insufficient attention has been paid to the causes of biodiversity loss. In a new report, it claims that the result has been a failure to meet global targets of significantly reducing the rate of biodiversity loss by 2010. The report recommends a new global strategy to protect biodiversity from 2011 onwards.
